IAKL started to guide and foster law school students since 2012 LA Conference, by holding a mentoring program. In March 2013, seven mentors visited the Pusan National University School of Law to mentor students on various practice areas (including intellectual property, international finance, international dispute, corporate, bankruptcy, public interest litigation, international human rights). The visit was received with enthusiastic responses by the students, and the program ended on a successful note.

Mentoring was also one of the main sessions for the 2013 Seoul Conference, which was developed upon previous programs. About twenty mentors from Korea and overseas volunteered and offered warm encouragements and advices to the students. Over the period of two hours, in-depth mentoring took place on various practice areas (banking finance and securities, in-house compliance and ethics, intellectual property, international trade and cross border investment, corporate M&A and private equity, litigation and ADR, immigration).

In the future, IAKL plans to visit regional law schools on a regular basis, to develop the program independently from annual conference programs. Please support the mentoring program by joining the upcoming sessions as mentors!
